Travis Kelce In Doubt For Thursday But Injury Not Considered Long-Term
1 year agoUpdating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce's (knee) status is in doubt for the regular season opener on Thursday night against the Detroit Lions because of a hyperextended knee he suffered in practice, but sources are saying it's not believed to be a long-term injury. The Chiefs will wait for the swelling to go down and go from there. Kelce is being considered questionable for Week 1, but he was also listed as limited on Tuesday's official injury report. The 33-year-old All-Pro may not play at all this week as a precaution or he could be limited in his reps, so fantasy managers must have a backup plan ready just in case. If Kelce is inactive or limited on Thursday, Noah Gray would serve as KC's top pass-catching tight end against Detroit.
