Nathan Eovaldi To Be Activated And Start On Tuesday
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (forearm) will be activated from the 15-day injured list and start against the division-rival Houston Astros on Tuesday. Eovaldi didn't go on a minor-league rehab assignment and hasn't pitched in a game since July 30 due to a right-forearm strain, though, so he'll be a pretty risky fantasy option in a tough matchup in his return to Texas' starting rotation. But the 33-year-old veteran deserves to be rostered in all fantasy leagues down the stretch, as he'll be returning to a strong 11-3 record, 2.69 ERA (3.23 FIP), 1.01 WHIP, 34 walks and 111 strikeouts in 123 2/3 innings pitched in his 19 starts in his first year with the Rangers. In his three July starts, Eovaldi allowed four earned runs on nine hits (no homers) while walking 11 and fanning 10 in 18 1/3 frames against the Astros, Red Sox and Rays.
