J.D. Davis Scratched With Hand Soreness
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman J.D. Davis (hand) was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the San Diego Padres with left-hand soreness. Casey Schmitt replaced Davis at third base and was hitting ninth in the batting order against Padres right-hander Michael Wacha. For now, fantasy managers should consider Davis to be day-to-day. The 30-year-old has hit .246/.321/.401 with 15 home runs, 18 doubles, a triple, 60 RBI and 51 runs scored in 124 games and 476 plate appearances in his first season in the Bay Area. Davis will be hoping to turn things around in September when he returns to the lineup after hitting just .202 (18-for-89) with a homer, four doubles, eight RBI, 29 strikeouts and nine runs scored in 26 games (23 starts).
