Joshua Palmer Ahead Of Quentin Johnston On Depth Chart?
1 year agoThe Athletic's Daniel Popper writes that Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer has earned more first-team repetitions in three-receiver packages at training camp alongside Keenan Allen and Mike Williams than rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston. Johnston is in the early stages of his development and has struggled with drops. His role early in his first NFL season will be geared toward specific concepts that will allow him to play fast. Meanwhile, Palmer has the full trust of quarterback Justin Herbert and the coaching staff and has been a regular playmaker in camp. Popper believes Palmer is the safer fantasy bet over Johnston, at least early in the 2023 season. Johnston's current ADP is right around 50, while Palmer's sits at 92.
