Josh Jacobs Should Be Bell-Cow Back When He Returns
1 year agoLas Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs led the team with 393 touches in 2022, with the next closest running back being Ameer Abdullah with 29 touches. Zamir White, a fourth-rounder last year, has taken the bulk of carries in training camp practices with Jacobs holding out this summer. White is a bigger back, but Jacobs is much more faster, more elusive and a better blocker. Jacobs also has better vision and more receiving ability. The Athletic's Tashan Reed suggests that the Raiders will need to lean on Jacobs again as their bell-cow back this year, unless his holdout continues into the regular season. The 25-year-old is expected to report before the start of the regular season and he still has at least low-end RB1 value in fantasy drafts, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get off to a slow start after all the time away.
