1 year agoThe Cincinnati Reds placed first baseman Joey Votto (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with left-shoulder discomfort and recalled infielder/outfielder Nick Senzel from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. The team also returned catcher Curt Casali (foot) from a rehab assignment and outrighted outfielder Henry Ramos to Louisville. The 39-year-old Votto had surgery on his left shoulder last year, so fantasy managers in deeper leagues should expect an extended absence. He got off to a hot start when he eventually debuted in 2023, but he's now hitting just .200/.303/.459 with 13 home runs, 33 RBI and 20 runs scored in 51 games for the Reds. Rookie Christian Encarnacion-Strand is making another start at first base for Cincy on Thursday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
