Mariners Not Concerned With Bryan Woo
1 year agoThere are "no real concerns" with Seattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryan Woo's right-forearm inflammation, according to general manager Justin Hollander. The Mariners put him on the 15-day injured list on Tuesday out of "an abundance of caution." Woo felt more sore than usual coming out of his last start on Thursday, leading to Tuesday's move to put him on the IL. It sounds like the 23-year-old will have a chance to return from the IL when he's eligible. In the meantime, top pitching prospect Emerson Hancock will get a short-term audition at the big-league level. Woo has held his own in his first 11 big-league starts in 2023 with a 4.75 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 60 strikeouts in 55 frames.
