Yordan Alvarez Retreats To Bench Tuesday
1 year agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez is not in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Cleveland Guardians. With Alvarez out, Yainer Diaz will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh against Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams. This will be Alvarez's first game out since he returned from the injured list last Wednesday. Since his return, the 26-year-old left-handed-hitting All-Star has gone 7-for-18 with two home runs, a double, four RBI and five runs scored in five games, so he has picked up right where he left off. Alvarez is an absolute must-start in fantasy lineups when he's playing, as he's hitting .286 (63-for-220) with 19 long balls, 59 RBI and 46 runs scored in 62 games on the year.
