Max Fried Expected To Return This Weekend
1 year agoAtlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos said that left-hander Max Fried (forearm) has made his last minor-league rehab start and is expected to return from the injured list and start this weekend against the Chicago Cubs. In addition, the Braves aren't close to any trades but will keep dialogue going through Tuesday's deadline. Atlanta also remains optimistic that right-hander Kyle Wright (shoulder) will return during the regular season. The Cubs have been hot of late, so the 29-year-old Fried will be extra risky in his return to the starting rotation this weekend on the road at Wrigley Field, but he should also be rostered in all fantasy formats as an ace when he's healthy. In his final rehab start with Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday, Fried had four strikeouts and two walks while allowing two runs in 4 1/3 innings.
