Mike Williams Playing More In The Slot
1 year agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams is moving around a lot more so far in training camp, including playing in the slot and other inside alignments. Williams has already proven himself as one of the elite outside receivers in the league, and with his big frame, length and contested-catch prowess, he will always do his most damage outside the numbers. He has only played 13.4% of his snaps in the slot in the last two years. But since head coach Brandon Staley took over in 2021, the Chargers have looked for ways to expand Williams' game, and moving inside for 2023 feels like the next natural step in his progression. The 28-year-old has a lot of boom/bust to his game for fantasy purposes, but moving to the slot more could help him be more consistent as a WR3.
