Yandy Diaz Still Bothered By Groin
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays corner infielder Yandy Diaz (groin) returned as the designated hitter on Friday against the Houston Astros after tweaking his groin on Tuesday against the Miami Marlins. Diaz's MRI exam on Wednesday came back positive, but he acknowledged on Friday that he still felt tight and sore whether he's running, swinging or fielding. Manager Kevin Cash said he was hoping to have Diaz back at first base on Saturday, but he'll probably have to manage the injury the rest of the season and avoid overexerting himself, especially on the bases. The 31-year-old went 0-for-3 with an RBI on Friday night, but it remains to be seen if he'll be in Saturday's lineup, so fantasy managers will need to check before game time. Diaz has been one of the better hitters in all of baseball this year, so hopefully this doesn't negatively affect him the rest of the way.
