Nolan Schanuel Promoted To Double-A
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel, the team's first-round pick in this year's MLB draft, has already been promoted to Double-A Rocket City, according to sources. The 11th overall pick is rising rapidly in the team's system already after playing in just five combined games in the Arizona Complex League and Low-A Inland Empire. The 21-year-old impressed in that short window, though, going 7-for-14 with a double and five walks, so the Halos would like to see the youngster face some better pitching before the end of this year. Schanuel will also likely open up the 2024 season with the Trash Pandas, and if he continues to impress, a move up to Triple-A Salt Lake and the major leagues as early as next season could be possible.
