Jets Sign Aaron Rodgers To New Two-Year Deal
1 year agoThe New York Jets signed four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a new two-year, $75 million guaranteed contract through the 2024 season on Wednesday, according to NFL salary data. Rodgers had nearly $110 million guaranteed remaining on his old deal with the Green Bay Packers, and he's now taking less for a shot at a ring in New York to close out his Hall of Fame career. His new deal is technically a five-year deal, including two option years to spread out bonus proration and create a 2023 salary cap number of just under $9 million. It gives the Jets maximum flexibility to build around Rodgers. The 39-year-old will give the Jet a much better shot at a long playoff run this year, although he's coming off his worst season as a professional and is no lock to be an every-week QB1 in fantasy in 2023 in his new digs.
