Michael Carter Motivated After Down Year
1 year agoNew York Jets running back Michael Carter had a strong rookie year in 2021, but by the end of his rookie season last year, he was viewed as a cautionary tale after then-rookie Breece Hall (knee) replaced him at the top of the RB depth chart. The Jets need Carter to return to the form he showed as a rookie as they cautiously work Hall back up to full speed as he recovers from last October's torn ACL. The 24-year-old knows many fans and media have written him off already, so he's motivated to prove them wrong in Year 3. The Jets have been happy with what they've seen out of Carter so far, with him taking the majority of RB reps early in training camp. Carter should be involved plenty early on with Hall being eased back in, but he's going to have to hold off impressive rookie Israel Abanikanda all year.
