Thairo Estrada Begins Hitting Progression
1 year agoSan Francisco Giants infielder Thairo Estrada (hand) began a hitting progression on Tuesday and also took groundballs. Meanwhile, outfielder Luis Gonzalez (back) is beginning a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento. Estrada is resuming baseball activities, but he's not expected to come off the injured list until sometime in early August. The 27-year-old will need to head out on a minor-league rehab assignment before he's activated. He's had a fine season in his third year in San Francisco, hitting .272/.327/.434 with nine home runs, 18 doubles, a triple, 31 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 70 games, making him fantasy relevant in most leagues for his speed. Estrada is three steals shy of setting a new career mark in that category.
