1 year agoThe Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays are considering trading for Detroit Tigers right-hander Michael Lorenzen, whose trade value is peaking at the exact right time with the deadline quickly approaching on Aug. 1. Including his fantastic outing on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals, Lorenzen has tossed 18 2/3 scoreless innings over his last three starts. The 31-year-old made his first All-Star team this year and picked up his fifth win on Thursday by throwing seven shutout innings while walking one and striking out three to lower his season ERA to 3.49. Lorenzen is striking out only 19.5% of batters he faces, but the key to his solid season has been a low 6.7% walk rate. A trade to a contender would make him slightly more attractive in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
