Starling Marte Missing Third Straight Game
1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (head) is out of the lineup for the third straight game on Thursday against the visiting Chicago White Sox due to migraines, but he was able to take fly balls in the outfield before Thursday's game. Marte said he's feeling better and can "maybe" return to the starting lineup on Friday against the Boston Red Sox. Mark Canha is making another start in right field and will bat eighth on Thursday against White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech. It sounds as though Marte should return to action this weekend. The 34-year-old veteran outfielder has been pretty mediocre in everything besides stolen bases (24) this year, batting .254 (78-for-307) with five homers, seven doubles, a triple, 28 RBI and 38 runs scored in 84 games.
