Logan Gilbert Picks Up Seventh Win To Close Out First Half
1 year agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert picked up his seventh win of the season in the team's 3-1 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday to close out the first half of the season. Gilbert allowed just one earned run on three hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out six in seven strong frames. It wasn't as impressive as his last outing, which was a complete game against the San Francisco Giants, but it was good enough to give the M's a victory heading into the All-Star break. The 26-year-old has now given up two or fewer earned runs in five of his last seven starts and appears ready to continue his strong performances to close out the month of July after this week's break. Gilbert is 7-5 overall with a 3.66 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 106 K's in 108 1/3 innings over his 18 starts.
