Austin Hays Returns To Lineup Saturday
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Austin Hays (hip) is back in the starting lineup to face the Minnesota Twins and right-hander Sonny Gray on Saturday. Hays is starting in left field and hitting fifth in the batting order. It will be his first game action after sitting out the last five games due to a bruised left hip, but he'll close out the first half of the season on the field for Baltimore. The 28-year-old will be in uniform at next week's All-Star game in Seattle after having a great first half, slashing .312/.352/.491 with an .843 OPS, eight home runs, 22 doubles, two triples, 34 RBI and 42 runs in 76 games. His counting stats leave something to be desired, but fantasy managers can't complain about his high average and OPS and solid on-base percentage. Hays hit .326 (31-for-95) with two homers, nine doubles, 11 RBI, a steal and 15 runs scored in 24 games in June.
