Cubs Expect Marcus Stroman To Start This Weekend
1 year agoThe Chicago Cubs are expecting right-hander Marcus Stroman (finger) to make his next start this weekend, but they'll know for sure after he throws his usual between-starts bullpen session in the next day or two. He'll also get an extra day between starts after Monday's off day. The 32-year-old was pulled from his start early on Sunday in London against the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals due to a blister on his right index finger, but it's obviously not a very serious issue. Fantasy managers should expect him to take the mound on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians, and he should remain in starting lineups. Stroman has been fantastic in his second year with the Cubbies, going 9-5 with a sharp 2.47 ERA (3.35 FIP), 1.08 WHIP, 35 walks and 85 K's in 102 innings over 17 starts.
