1 year agoWith the Atlanta Braves game against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies being postponed on Wednesday, Braves rookie right-hander AJ Smith-Shawver will have his next start pushed back to Friday against the Cincinnati Reds. Bryce Elder will take the hill for the series finale on Thursday against the Phillies, while Jared Shuster and Charlie Morton will go Saturday and Sunday against the Reds, respectively. Wednesday's postponement will work out well for Smith-Shawver, although he'll now get a streaking Reds team on the road. The 20-year-old pitching prospect has been great so far in his first three MLB outings (two starts), allowing five runs (three earned) while walking four and striking out 11 in 13 1/3 innings.
