Darick Hall Reinstated And Optioned
1 year agoThe Philadelphia Phillies reinstated first baseman Darick Hall (thumb) from the 60-day injured list on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. In a corresponding move to make room on the 40-man roster, the Phillies designated outfielder Dalton Guthrie for assignment. Hall has been out since early April after tearing a ligament in his right thumb, but he'll head to the minors for now. On his 13-game minor-league rehab assignment, the 27-year-old left-handed hitter went 16-for-59 (.271) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs and 10 RBI in 15 games with Single-A Clearwater and Lehigh Valley. Hall should eventually be back with the Phillies, where he'll likely be a platoon player at first base with Kody Clemens against right-handed pitching.
