Matt Olson Drops To Fifth In Batting Order
2 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson has been dropped to fifth in the team's batting order on Thursday against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Olson has only hit second in the lineup this year, but Thursday's contest will be the first time he's hit anywhere else. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger is hitting just .228 (59-for-259) on the year and has really struggled against southpaws, going 14-for-74 (.189) against them with just two home runs, 11 RBI and 33 strikeouts against them in 83 plate appearances. He's still a must-start fantasy slugger, but his league-leading 92 strikeouts have really hurt so far in 2023. In his second year in Atlanta, Olson has contributed 10 doubles, a triple, 18 home runs, 45 RBI and 46 runs scored in 68 games. DFS gamers will want to avoid Olson against a lefty Thursday.
