Kristaps Porzingis Appears To Be Leaning Toward Picking Up His Option
2 years agoWashington Wizards forward/center Kristaps Porzingis appears to be leaning toward picking up his player option. NBA insider Keith Smith has noted that Porzingis was initially expected to decline the option to sign a new long-term deal with the club, but following Washington's front office shake-up there's now "more and more buzz" that the Latvian giant opts in for $36 million next season. Porzingis had a career year in 2022-23, scoring 23.2 points on 49.8 percent shooting and grabbing 8.4 rebounds. His role on offense could be even bigger in the upcoming season if Bradley Beal moves on from the team.
