AJ Smith-Shawver Could Pitch In Relief In Game 2
2 years agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker said that the team needs left-hander Dylan Dodd to cover a good chunk of Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday after their bullpen usage in the series opener on Tuesday. As a result, the Braves could use rookie AJ Smith-Shawver, who is scheduled to start on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies, out of the bullpen. Fantasy managers will be hoping that Smith-Shawver isn't used so that he can make the start in an excellent matchup on Thursday. The 20-year-old southpaw, who is ranked as the team's top prospect per MLB Pipeline, has yet to allow a run in two outings (one start) while walking three and striking out five in his first 7 2/3 big-league innings.
