Skyy Moore 2023 Outlook: Potential to Grow in an Uncertain Receiver Room
2 years agoSkyy Moore was a fantasy darling as soon as he got drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the NFL draft. Unfortunately, Moore struggled to see the field on offense during his rookie season as he acclimated to the NFL after starring at Western Michigan. Moore played on just 29% of the Chiefs' offensive snaps in 2022, finishing with 22 receptions on 33 targets for 250 yards. The rookie receiver played 37% of his snaps from the slot and was essentially blocked by JuJu Smith-Schuster. Smith-Schuster is gone, leaving an opportunity for Moore to see his role expand in his second season. Kansas City's passing attack will continue to flow through Travis Kelce, but Moore has an opportunity to compete for targets with Kadarius Toney, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and 2023 second-round pick Rashee Rice. While it is difficult to project how Patrick Mahomes will distribute the ball to receivers (outside of Kelce), there seems to be a real opportunity for Moore to expand his offensive role and gain fantasy relevance in his second season in the league. He's worth a gamble in redraft leagues given his appropriate WR55 price tag heading into the summer.
