Jose Urquidy Hasn't Resumed Throwing
2 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Jose Urquidy (shoulder) has yet to resume throwing after leaving his April 30 start against the Philadelphia Phillies after 5 1/3 innings after experiencing pain in the back of his shoulder. An MRI exam showed inflammation near his shoulder/armpit area, and the Astros are hoping to get him back from the injured list around the All-Star break. Before the injury, Urquidy was 2-2 with a 5.20 ERA in 27 2/3 innings over six starts. The 28-year-old remains in shutdown mode, but he said that he hopes to resume throwing sometime next week. In shallow mixed leagues, fantasy managers can probably leave Urquidy on the waiver wire until he gets closer to a return to Houston's starting rotation.
