Kenny Pickett 2023 Outlook: Could Take Fantasy Leap In Year Two
2 years agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett is looking to make a second-year leap in 2023 after a subpar rookie season. He started 12 games for the Steelers last year and threw for 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions. His fantasy production was also mediocre at best. Pickett averaged 12.2 fantasy points per game and had one game over 16 fantasy points. But the 24-year-old has added more than 10 pounds of muscle this offseason, according to his personal quarterback coach Tony Racioppi. Pickett will have tight end Pat Freiermuth, plus a solid receiver group to throw to again in Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, and newly acquired Allen Robinson. With most of that group last year, it was encouraging to see Pickett complete 63% of his passes in his rookie season, and his overall numbers should improve with more reps in 2023. Pickett won't be taken high in drafts, but if he can become more established as a passer, he can produce more solid fantasy days this season and be a valuable option in Two-QB/superflex formats. RotoBaller ranks Pickett 21st among all signal callers in the latest quarterback rankings.
