Chase Brown 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Favorite To Become Cincinnati's RB2
1 year agoCincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown and his twin brother Sydney Brown are the sixth set of twins to be drafted in the same NFL draft. Even though safety Sydney Brown won the draft capital battle (selected in the third round by the Eagles), Chase Brown finds himself in an excellent landing spot. The Bengals drafted the running back from London, Ontario, Canada, in the fifth round to reinforce their depth at the position. Brown possesses the ability and pass-catching prowess to potentially take the impactful role vacated by Samaje Perine. The 23-year-old showcased impressive metrics in college, topping 100+ rushing yards in nine consecutive games in 2022. Plus, he has shown he can support a full workload, averaging 27.3 attempts per game in college. With Trayveon Williams (ankle) week-to-week with an ankle sprain, Brown should see more opportunities and has a chance to win Cincinatti's RB2 spot behind Joe Mixon. Although a few things would have to fall his way for that to happen, he is worth a roster spot in deeper redraft leagues and worth drafting as Mixon's handcuff.
