Van Jefferson 2023 NFL Player Outlook: Sneaky Opportunity As Rams No. 2 Option
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson is expected to have a more prominent role in 2023. The 26-year-old is the clear favorite to be the team's No. 2 wideout, with Allen Robinson II traded to the Steelers this offseason. The Rams may have the most questions of any NFL team this offseason. After loading up on late-round draft capital, this team is trying to re-run it back with Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, and company. Jefferson was selected 57th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Rams and has flashed his ability over his three-year career. The Florida product has caught 93 of 164 targets for 1,391 yards and 10 touchdowns over 44 games. However, we have yet to see any consistency. Outside of Kupp, this team will need to find a consistent option in the passing game, and Jefferson should be the favorite for that role. With his only competition being Tyler Higbee, Ben Skowronek, and 165-pound Tutu Atwell, Jefferson might have a decent target share and opportunity by default if Stafford can return to form. He is an excellent value in Best Ball formats and should be monitored in redraft if he thrives early in the season.
