Ravens Have Tried Many Ways To Lock Up Lamar Jackson
2 years agoNFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Baltimore Ravens have tried many ways to reach a long-term contract extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson, even offering him a deal that compares favorably to the five-year, $255 million extension the Philadelphia Eagles gave QB Jalen Hurts on Monday. With Jackson not having an agent representing him, it doesn't feel like there is much give and take as the two sides negotiate, and the Ravens haven't been able to engage and dig in much this offseason. The 26-year-old has a .738 winning percentage in his career, which ranks fourth since the NFL merger, but he has been hurt by injuries towards the end of each of the last two seasons. The Ravens continue to say they remain committed to Jackson for the long term, but it remains to be seen if he'll be playing in Baltimore in 2023.
