Triston McKenzie Begins Throwing
2 years agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Triston McKenzie (shoulder) began a throwing program on Friday at Nationals Park after being sidelined since March 26 with a right shoulder strain, and he reported no issues after throwing from 60 feet. Manager Terry Francona said he was encouraged by the progress from the 25-year-old right-hander, who is eligible to return from the 60-day injured list on May 29. Fantasy managers need to keep McKenzie stashed everywhere, as he emerged as one of the team's top starters in 2022, going 11-11 with a 2.96 ERA in 31 games (30 starts). The Guardians will take it slow with McKenzie after he suffered a right teres major muscle strain. We'll keep a close eye on his rehab along the way.
