Andrew McCutchen Takes A Seat In Series Finale
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen is resting in Sunday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox. After a three-hit game on Saturday, the veteran outfielder will get a breather on Sunday. The 36-year-old outfielder has been solid in his return to Pittsburgh so far in 2023, going 9-for-24 (.375) with two doubles, a home run, three RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases in eight games played. He should continue to have a regular role in Pittsburgh's outfield as long as he stays healthy. With McCutchen out Sunday, Canaan Smith-Njigba will start in right field and bat sixth against White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech. This will be Smith-Njigba's eighth big-league game. He's gone 3-for-17 (.176) so far with no homers and two RBI.
