2 years agoCorey LaJoie has had his issues at COTA. The Spire Motorsports driver finished 20th in 2021 and then 36th last year. LaJoie was fifth after Stage 2 in the 54-lap 2021 race. However, problems and spinning derailed his afternoon. Last year, a blown engine ended his day quite early. This time, LaJoie qualified 1.996 seconds off from William Byron's time. The No. 7 car lost quite a few tenths coming off the throttle. His practice times were around 2.3 to 2.5 seconds slower as well. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
