Bears Release Trevor Siemian
2 years agoThe Chicago Bears released quarterback Trevor Siemian on Thursday. The move comes after the Bears scooped up P.J. Walker on Wednesday after he was non-tendered by the Carolina Panthers. Walker will now head into the 2023 season as the backup to Justin Fields, pending another acquisition by Chicago at the QB position. Siemian ended 2022 on Injured Reserve with an oblique injury and played in just two games (one start) in his lone season with the Bears, throwing for 184 yards, one touchdown and one interception. In six NFL seasons with the Bears, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, Siemian has played in 35 games (30 starts) and has completed only 58.9 percent of his passes for 7,027 yards, 42 touchdowns and 28 picks. He'll attempt to land another backup gig on the open market.
