Cubs Send Brennen Davis, Pete Crow-Armstrong Down
2 years agoThe Chicago Cubs optioned outfielder Brennen Davis to Triple-A Iowa and sent center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong to minor-league camp on Friday as part of their roster cuts in spring training. Davis is healthy after dealing with back issues in 2022, but he and Crow-Armstrong will be given more time to work on their craft down on the farm to begin the 2023 season. Davis struggled as Chicago's top prospect in 2022, but his back injury was most likely to blame. He still has a high ceiling due to his raw power at the plate. Crow-Armstrong is another one of the Cubs' top prospects, but he still has time to mature in the minors and hasn't played above High-A. Fantasy managers should expect both Davis and Crow-Armstrong to spend all of 2023 on the farm.
