Tony Gonsolin Could Miss Opening Day
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin's left ankle is still "tender," according to manager Dave Roberts. However, X-rays came back clean for any fractures. Roberts said he "doesn't feel good" about Gonsolin being ready for Opening Day, but he continues to be listed as day-to-day in spring camp. Gonsolin suffered a sprained ankle doing drills in camp and will not throw for at least a few more days. The 28-year-old All-Star might not be able to make his first turn through the rotation in the regular season, but barring a setback, he shouldn't miss too much time early on. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect even better numbers from Gonsolin in 2023, but he should be a rotation staple for the Dodgers.
