Derek Carr Meets With Saints And Panthers
2 years agoFree-agent quarterback Derek Carr met with the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday, according to sources. Carr will meet with New York Jets brass on Wednesday, including owner Woody Johnson. According to The Athletic's Joe Person, Panthers head coach Frank Reich said Carr is still in his "prime" and mentioned a five-year window if the team signs him. Carolina holds the No. 9 overall pick in the draft and have only Matt Corral and Jacob Eason on the current roster at the position. The Saints and Jets are also looking to upgrade under center this offseason, although Carr may not be their No. 1 option. The 31-year-old veteran was a disappointment in his final season with the Las Vegas Raiders, and he figures to be more of a backup QB in fantasy, depending on where he lands.
