Miguel Rojas Expected To Handle Most Of SS Duties
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers veteran shortstop Miguel Rojas is expected to handle the bulk of the playing time at shortstop in 2023, according to manager Dave Roberts. Chris Taylor is also a potential candidate at the position after Gavin Lux (knee) suffered a season-ending torn ACL in spring training on Monday. The Dodgers acquired Rojas in a trade with the Miami Marlins this offseason after the 34-year-old hit an underwhelming .236/.283/.323 with a .605 OPS, six home runs, 36 RBI, 34 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 507 plate appearances and 140 games for the Fish. He's always been more of a glove-first player, topping out at 11 home runs and 13 steals in his eight years in Miami. However, the lineup upgrade in LA should make him slightly more attractive as a middle infield piece in deeper fantasy leagues.
