Luis Robert Jr. Says He's Healthy
2 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. (wrist) says he is healthy this spring after spending the winter doing more on-field work and baseball-specific activity in Florida, as opposed to previous offseasons when he just worked out a lot in the batting cages. Part of it was the fact that he had to be game-ready sooner in order to play in the World Baseball Classic in 2023 for Cuba. A bout with COVID-19, vision issues and a wrist injury limited Robert to a career-high 98 games played in 2022. He hit .284/.319/.426 with a .746 OPS, 12 home runs, 56 RBI, 54 runs scored and career-high 11 stolen bases. He also had a career-low 19.2% strikeout rate. As manager Pedro Grifol says, Robert has MVP potential if he can ever stay healthy for a full season.
