James Paxton Back To Full Health
2 years agoAfter being shut down last August with a lat strain, Boston Red Sox left-hander James Paxton (lat) is back to full strength. He threw eight bullpen sessions this winter and had his first bullpen session of spring training on Thursday. Boston turned down a two-year, $26 million club option this winter, but Paxton exercised a player option in his contract worth $4 million to stay with the team in 2023. The 34-year-old should reside in Boston's rotation if he can stay healthy, but it's tough to get too excited about him since he's thrown only 21 2/3 innings over the last three seasons due to injuries. Expect serious workload restrictions in 2023, which will cap his fantasy upside.
