Noah Syndergaard Showing Uptick In Velocity
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that right-hander Noah Syndergaard has already shown an uptick in velocity in bullpen sessions compared to the sessions he threw a year ago. "There's going to be a marked increase in velocity (this year), in our opinion," Roberts said. The 30-year-old worked on his mechanics in the offseason, and it looks like those changes are working so far. With a drop in velocity in 2022 with the Los Angeles Angels and Philadelphia Phillies, Thor had a 3.94 ERA (3.83 FIP), 1.25 WHIP and career-low 13.7 percent strikeout rate in 134 2/3 innings over 25 appearances (24 starts). Keep in mind that he missed all of 2020 and almost all of 2021 after having Tommy John surgery. Syndergaard could become a more attractive streamer in LA if he can boost his strikeout totals and keep his velocity up.
