Taylor Trammell To Have Surgery On His Hand
2 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Taylor Trammell (hand) will have surgery on his right hand to fix a broken hamate bone. Trammell is expected to be out for six to seven weeks, so he'll most likely enter the 2023 season on the injured list. The 25-year-old wasn't a lock to make Seattle's Opening Day roster to begin with, and this all but officially counts him out now. It's another tough blow for Trammell, a former first-round pick by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016. He has really struggled at the plate the last two years with the M's, hitting .174/.267/.376 with a .643 OPS, 12 home runs, 28 RBI, 38 runs scored and four stolen bases in 94 games played. Trammell's injury will afford Jarred Kelenic, Dylan Moore and Sam Haggerty more opportunities in Seattle's outfield to begin the year.
