Corbin Burnes Loses Arbitration Case
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes lost his salary arbitration case against the team on Wednesday, according to a source. He will make $10.01 million this year instead of the $10.75 million that he filed for. Burnes has become one of the best pitchers in baseball the last few years. He won the National League Cy Young in 2021 and was almost just as good last year, going 12-8 with a 2.94 ERA (3.14 FIP), 0.96 WHIP and a league-high 243 strikeouts against 51 walks in 33 starts covering a career-high 202 innings pitched. The 28-year-old right-hander slipped a bit down the stretch, but fantasy managers couldn't really complain in the long run. When all is said and done, Burnes should be a fantasy ace on draft day.
