Lewin Diaz Outrighted To Triple-A
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Lewin Diaz passed through waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk. Diaz has had a tumultuous offseason to say the least, after originally being designated for assignment on Nov. 15 of last year by the Miami Marlins. Since then, he was claimed by the Pirates on Nov. 22, DFA'd by the Pirates on Nov. 30, claimed by the Orioles on Dec. 2, DFA'd by the Orioles on Dec. 21, traded to the Braves on Dec. 23, DFA'd by the Braves on Dec. 28, claimed by the O's on Jan. 5 and now outrighted back to the minors. For now, the 26-year-old left-handed hitter will stick with Baltimore after he hit .169 with five home runs, 11 RBI and 54 strikeouts in 174 plate appearances in his third MLB season with Miami in 2022. Diaz will represent first base depth in Baltimore if he sticks with the organization.
