David Shaw Interviews With Broncos
2 years agoThe Denver Broncos interviewed former Stanford head coach David Shaw for their head-coaching position on Wednesday, according to sources. Shaw spent nine years in the NFL from 1997 to 2005 with the Eagles, Raiders and Ravens and is interested in returning to the professional ranks. The 50-year-old was a wide receiver at Stanford before becoming a coach. In the NFL, he was initially Stanford's offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach in 2007 and was promoted to head coach in 2011, a position he's held for 12 seasons. Shaw resigned as Stanford's head coach in 2022 after two straight 3-9 seasons. Three members of the Broncos' ownership group have strong ties to Stanford. Denver is looking to replace Nathaniel Hackett, who they fired in December in his first year with the team.
