Aaron Jones Quiet To End The Season
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones gained 48 yards on 12 carries, caught 3-of-4 targets for 20 yards, and lost a fumble during the team's 20-16 loss to the Detroit Lions. It is a quiet end to another top-12 fantasy season for the 28-year-old. There was speculation about what Jones' workload would look like in both aspects of the offense. Teammate AJ Dillon ended the 2021 season hot, and many believed he would lose a significant amount of carries to him. However, the sixth-year back recorded the second-highest carry count of his carrier and out-carried Dillon 213-186. The departure of wide receiver Davante Adams implied Jones would receive a more significant target share. However, he added only seven to his 2021 total, finishing with just four more receiving yards and one fewer receiving touchdown. The one low note for Jones to point at would be his lack of rushing touchdowns, with only two on the season. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers' future in limbo, Jones' fantasy value in 2023 stands to potentially take a small hit. He will likely be viewed as a fringe RB1 come draft season.
