San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has had a wild rookie season. The last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft has started the past two games.
The 49ers are their third starting quarterback this year. They lost Trey Lance to a season-ending ankle injury in Week 2. San Francisco then lost Jimmy Garoppolo to a broken foot in Week 13.
However, the former Iowa State quarterback has played well since taking over as the starter.

Should I Pickup And Start Brock Purdy In Week 16?
Purdy has done well over the past three weeks. He had 210 passing yards, two touchdowns, and 14.3 fantasy points in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins after Garoppolo got hurt.
Furthermore, the rookie quarterback has been outstanding in his two career starts, averaging two passing touchdowns and 19.1 fantasy points per game. The former Iowa State star has had the highest passing rate over the past two weeks (124.6).
This week Purdy faces the Washington Commanders. They have surrendered 16.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, slightly more than the league average. However, Washington has given 17 or more fantasy points to quarterbacks five times this year, including to Daniel Jones a few weeks ago.
What Other Quarterback Should I Consider?
While Purdy is an excellent streaming option this week, fantasy players should check their waiver wire for Gardner Minshew. The veteran quarterback is rostered in only 16.9% of ESPN leagues.
Unfortunately, MVP front-runner, Jalen Hurts won’t play this week because of a shoulder injury. Minshew will make his first start of the year tomorrow against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Philadelphia Eagles will secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs with one more win this year. If they defeat the Cowboys, fantasy players should expect Hurts to miss the final two games of the regular season to let his injured should fully heal.
However, Minshew is a capable replacement. Last season, he started the Week 13 matchup against the New York Jets for an injured Hurts. He completed 80% of his passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns, scoring 18.8 fantasy points. Furthermore, the veteran has averaged 16.9 fantasy points per game in his 25 career starts.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys have struggled to slow down opposing passing attacks lately. Over the past seven games, Dallas has surrendered 16.4 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Furthermore, they have allowed quarterbacks to average 1.9 passing touchdowns per game during that span, giving up two or more passing scores in 57.1% of those games. Minshew should have no trouble totaling 17 or more fantasy points in this critical NFC East matchup.
