Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has had an excellent first year with the team. The former Dallas Cowboy is the WR12 for the year, averaging 11.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Furthermore, the former first-round pick has been a critical part of Cleveland’s passing attack. He has accounted for 26.3% of the team’s targets and 50% of the receiving touchdowns over the first 14 games this year.
Unfortunately, Cooper has dealt with some injuries this season. However, the star receiver hasn’t missed any games.

Is Amari Cooper Healthy Or Injured?
Cooper has been dealing with a hip and core muscle injury over the past few weeks. He didn’t practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, as the team gave him time off to rest. Thursday was his first day of practice this week.
Despite the injury, the former Alabama star was all but a lock to play this week against the New Orleans Saints. He hasn’t missed a game this year. Furthermore, the veteran has played through the injury over the past few weeks.
More importantly, Cooper didn’t have an injury designation on Cleveland’s final injury report. He is ready to go against the Saints on Saturday.
Should I Start Amari Cooper in Week 16?
The star receiver has been outstanding for fantasy players this season. However, Cooper has struggled since Deshaun Watson returned from his 11-game suspension.
In the three games with Watson under center, the veteran receiver has averaged 3.3 receptions on 7.3 targets for 46.7 receiving yards and 6.3 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he didn’t find the end zone in all three games.
By comparison, Cooper averaged 5.2 receptions on 8.5 targets for 72 receiving yards and 13.4 fantasy points per game in the 11 games Jacoby Brissett started. The veteran receiver had all seven receiving touchdowns with Brissett under center.
This week he faces a New Orleans defense that has surrendered 26.5 fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season. Unfortunately, they have been without Marshon Lattimore since Week 5. However, the superstar cornerback has a chance to play on Saturday, making Cooper’s matchup far from ideal.
Hopefully, fantasy players do have a better starting option this week. However, they should be prepared for another disappointing performance if forced to start Cooper.
