Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has had a disappointing season. After a massive 2021 season, the former second-round pick is averaging only 12 half-point PPR fantasy points per game this year.
Furthermore, the superstar running back has battled through injuries this season. He has missed three games because of multiple ankle injuries.
Unfortunately, Taylor suffered another ankle injury on Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Is Jonathan Taylor Healthy Or Injured?
The superstar running back played only two snaps last week. He suffered a high-ankle sprain on his only touch of the game, pulling in a 13-yard reception early in the first quarter.
Taylor didn’t return to the game, leaving Deon Jackson and Zack Moss to carry the workload. Unfortunately, the former Wisconsin star likely won’t play again this season.
The Colts have a 4-9-1 record and are out of the playoff mix. Given the number of injuries Taylor has suffered and the limited number of games left, fantasy players shouldn’t expect him to see the field again this year.
Should I Add Deon Jackson Off The Waiver Wire?
With Taylor likely done for the year, the Colts will turn to Jackson and Moss in the backfield. Of the two, fantasy players should prioritize Jackson over Moss. The former Duke Blue Devil scored the only offensive touchdown in the game for Indianapolis on Saturday.
Both running backs will play a role for the rest of the season. While Jackson had the only offensive score in the game, Moss played more snaps (53-25). Furthermore, Moss had 24 rushing attempts for 81 yards, while Jackson had 13 attempts for 55 yards. While neither running back can replace Taylor’s fantasy production, they have an excellent matchup in Week 16.
The Los Angeles Chargers have surrendered 24.1 fantasy points per game to running backs this season, one of the highest averages in the NFL. Furthermore, they have given up over 100 rushing yards to running backs in all four games, including seven of the past eight contests.
Last week, Derrick Henry had 24 rushing attempts for 104 yards and a touchdown against Los Angeles. He also caught four passes for 59 receiving yards, ending the game with 24.3 fantasy points.
Hopefully, fantasy players with Taylor on their roster already had Jackson stashed on their bench. If not, Jackson is the top waiver wire claim this week. The former Blue Devil is available in over 85% of ESPN leagues.
